Setup Fortinet VPN

General Information

Users must first be given access in order to log into the PCPS VPN. To request access, visit the VPN Access Approval form.

Important Terms

  • VPN (Virtual Private Network) – A Service that allows you to login to internal PCPS servers/websites from any network connection outside the district.

Install FortiClient VPN App

  1. From the iPad Home Screen, tap Self Service app.
  2. At the bottom, tap Search tab.
  3. Search for FortiClient.
  4. Tap Install.

If FortiClient does not appear in the search results, the iPad isn’t set up as a 1:1 Staff device.

Configure FortiClient

  1. Tap the FortiClient app.
  2. Accept the Privacy Policy Highlights
  3. Tap Ok, got it (This is a pop up that will tell you the new features of the app.)
  4. Tap Allow when you see “FortiClient 6.0 Would like to Add VPN Configurations”
  5. If you have a passcode setup on your iPad, you will need to enter it.
  6. After the app relaunches, tap Select Connection located at the top right.
  7. Tap Add Configuration
  8. Please input the following
    1. Name: PCPS VPN
    2. Host: https://204.122.255.254
    3. Port: 443
    4. User: (This is your first.lastname) Do not put @polk-fl.net
  9. Turn ON Hide invalid certificate warning
  10. Tap Save at the top right
  11. Tap Done to exit the configuration list
  12. Tap <VPN to go back to the main page.

Turning VPN On/Off

Turning On

  1. Launch FortiClient app.
  2. Turn on by flipping the switch to the right
  3. Type your password for the username listed
  4. Tap OK. You will then be connected to PCPS VPN. (You will also see VPN near the wifi symbol and battery)
  5. Press the Home button or swipe up to navigate to the webpage/service behind the PCPS firewall.

Turning Off

  1. Launch FortiClient app.
  2. Flip the switch to off position.
  3. Press Home button or swipe up to close the app.
