This article will walk you through how to purchase app licenses and then distribute the app to a group of iPads.
Look at the Apps Offered in Self Service article to see if the district is already making the app available to all iPads.
If the app you are wanting to deploy is already available in Self Service, your staff and students can install the app(s) themselves. App installation works both on and off the Polk County network.
In order to enhance the focus of research and evidence-based materials to be used with all students in Polk County Public Schools and to ensure that the products and professional learning provided by consultants is focused on district priority professional learning needs, all external providers of professional learning must complete the Purchasing and Utilizing Resources Effectively (P.U.R.E.) review process.
This process is used to ensure that instructional materials and programs provided by external consultants and vendors are aligned with Florida Standards and the Strategic Plan of Polk County Public Schools. https://polkschoolsfl.com/pure/
Note: If the app you are purchasing is not free, you will need to add funds to your VPP account first. Please follow the Add Funds to VPP Account article.
In the middle column, a spinning indicator will appear next to the app denoting the progress of license generation. Licenses are not available in Jamf until this spinning indicator has disappeared.
The following directions outline how to distribute your app to a Smart Device Group. If you have 1:1 student iPads and would like to distribute the app to a specific grade level, please see the Scope Content to Specific Grade Level article for this step.
