Welcome Back!

Welcome back to another year with the best TV Production students and teachers in the world! It never ceases to amaze me how awesome and supportive each of you are of our program. Day in and day out you strive to teach our students one of the most dynamic and demanding subjects in the entirety of education.

Last Year at a Glance

Last year was again a very productive and positive year.

We had 61 schools submit a grand total of 430 entries into Video Awards and Spessard L. Holland, Jewett Middle Academy, George Jenkins Senior, Lake Gibson Middle, McLaughlin Middle, Kathleen Senior, Fort Meade Middle Senior, and Winter Haven Senior all received local, state, and/or national recognitions in many other competitions.

Our amazing students earned nearly 946 industry certifications and the ITV Department provided several Fall, Spring, and Summer workshops. Last but not least, funding was made available to provide ALL secondary schools with equipment to meet the needs of their program.

Gearing up for 2018-2019

Over the summer we have been working diligently to bring you another outstanding year. With the great success of our summer workshops at Kathleen Senior and with the assistance from our most knowledgeable teachers, we will provide similar Saturday workshops during the fall and continue our top-notch FCP and Premiere tutorials online for both you and your students.

As funding provides, we will also purchase and deliver needed equipment to both Elementary and Secondary programs, strengthen your programs with the best technology support team in the county, and give you yet another year end extravaganza like no other.

So, if you’re ready, let’s jump head first into this amazing year!

New ITV Teachers/Contacts

If you are new to ITV this year let me take this time to welcome you to the fold. I believe you will find this program both challenging and enjoyable.

Television Production, is the only subject that has the ability to reach every student, teacher, administrator, and parent in our schools; not only providing the news but promoting academics, promoting a positive environment, and forming a sense of unity to the school. You will help instill your students with the necessary 21st century skills which are sought after in today’s workforce.

You also have the only program which crosses each and every area of academic study. Writing a script? That’s English. Producing a video about Veterans Day? That’s History. Your class is the embodiment of creative project-based learning at its best!

The ITV staff and I look forward to meeting each of you and assisting you with anything you need. Please do not hesitate to call upon us for any technical, classroom management, or curriculum questions you may have.

Drones/UAVs  – Before You Fly

There is no official district policy for the use of drones in ITV. However, there are several FAA regulations you must follow if you plan to use one. Since the regulations change quite frequently, please contact Kyle Condon in our office, before you fly, for the latest information.
